Functions of the School Site Council
The SSC shall develop and approve the Single Plan for Student Achievement in consultation with all stakeholders, with the review, certification and advice of any applicable school advisory committee.
The SSC has the ongoing responsibility of reviewing with the principal, teachers, other school personnel, parents/community, and students at the secondary level, the implementation of the Single School Plan and to assess periodically the effectiveness of the program.
The SSC evaluates proposed expenditures of funds allocated to the school.
Composition of the SSC
The council shall be composed of: the principal, representatives of teachers elected by teachers at the school; other school personnel elected by other school personnel at the school; parents of pupils attending the school and community members elected by such parents. Each member has equal voting rights.
